Philosophy of Care
Dentavius is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor-Supervisor and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist in the state of North Carolina, in addition to a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia and South Carolina. Dentavius hold certifications as a National Board Certified Counselor, Certified Clinical Supervisor with the North Carolina Addictions Specialist Professional Practice Board, International Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor with the International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with International Association of Trauma Professionals.
Dentavius received his Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Webster University in 2008 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina in 2001. Dentavius has 10+ years of counseling experience serving children, adolescents, adults, and family populations with co-occurring disorders in all levels of care (outpatient, community-based programs, partial hospitalization, inpatient psychiatric units, medical detox, and substance abuse residential programs). Dentavius utilize different theory modalities including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Solution-Focused Family Therapy, Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT), The Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (ACRA), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Each of these theory modalities have been tested in psychological research studies with strong support for efficacy and validity with treating psychological disorders.
